Willow Planting

A group of 3C pupils helped plant some willow at the edge of the school field today. Thanks to the very heavy rain this winter the northern edge of the field is waterlogged. By planting willow we hope to improve the drainage of the soil and that the willow will transpire lots of the water helping to reduce the water level. The willow has been planted in a diamond type pattern and will be trained to form a tunnel.

Tree Planting

Today we have planted some new trees. They are five Hazels, five Rowans and five Crab Apples. Pupils from year 3 and 4 are pictured here. Hopefully the trees will be taller than them by the time they move into secondary school!
