Today Year 3 went to Murton Park to live a day in the Stone Age! We had such a fun time… we learned how to throw spears to hunt, how to weave, how to grind wheat into flour, how to make and decorate pottery and even became archaeologists exploring some historical artefacts!

Silent Debate in PHSE
This week in PHSE, 3C took part in a silent debate about what a community is. This meant that the children were not able to talk but had to share their opinions in different ways!
Andy Seed Author Visit
Today we were lucky enough to have the author Andy Seed. He came to speak to us about some of his non-fiction books where he interviews a wide range of endangered animals!
Anti Bullying Picket
On Thursday, all of Lower Key Stage 2 descended on the playground to “Make a Noise” against bullying. Not even the rain could stop us standing up against bullying!
Remembrance Day
Year 3 have been decorating some individual poppies to collaborate on a big piece of art work inspired by a Remembrance Day poppy!
Stone Age Designers
While half of our class have bee; swimming at the Grammar School at Leeds, we have been learning to become Stone Age designers! We’ve had to persevere and be resilient to make our axes, hammers and spears!
Cave Artists
This week 3C have been becoming real life Stone Age cave artists. We used charcoal and gestural drawing to make the caves with rabbits as we are… Rabbit Tribe!
Local Library Walk
3C took a walk to our local library to have a look around, celebrate some amazing books and learn how to join!
You Can Count On US
Year 3 have been learning to sing Count On Me by Bruno Mars as part of our celebration assembly collective worships!
Chime Bar Superstars
This week we have been learning how to become real life rockstars using the chime bars! We thought about how to change to pitch using different parts of the instrument and then tried to play along with some songs!
